Her Story
Sabrina Frey is an artist whose work is deeply inspired by the natural world. Growing up in the mountains of Colorado and now living in the Carson Valley, Sabrina feels a strong connection to the land, and much of her art reflects her reverence for nature and the changing of the seasons. “Nature is in my blood,” she says, “and my world feels right when I’m surrounded by it.”
As a devoted nature enthusiast she breathes life into her creations, crafting highly detailed representations of animals, landscapes, and the elements. Her mastery of innovative beading techniques enables her to fashion immersive and tactile mosaics that capture the essence of each piece, akin to the DNA of nature itself—an amalgamation of diverse parts forming a cohesive and singular whole.
Driven by a commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability, Sabrina repurposes materials such as cabinet doors and serving trays to serve as the sturdy foundations for her artwork. In doing so, she not only gives new life to discarded objects but also imbues her pieces with an added layer of uniqueness and character.
With a background in academia, Sabrina delights in sharing her discoveries and techniques with others. Her contributions have been instrumental in fostering a vibrant community of bead mosaic enthusiasts, and inspiring a new generation of artists to explore the limitless potential of this captivating art form.
